چکیده

Abstract Within this study, self-lubricating and triboactive (Cr,Al)N+Mo:S coatings were developed investigated for the deposition on components in a low-temperature physical vapor (PVD) hybrid process. Therefore, direct current magnetron sputtering (dcMS) high power pulse (HPPMS) PVD combined by using an industrial coating machine. Hereby, it was possible to deposit dense smooth triboactive, nitride with different chemical compositions architectures 16MnCr5E samples. Two architectures, matrix monolayer graded structure, evaluate effect tribological behavior. The morphology thickness analyzed means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Furthermore, indentation hardness modulus as well compound adhesion between substrate materials analyzed. CrN–Ag self-lubricating hard coatings

CrN–Ag composite films, 2.5–4 Am thick, were deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering on Si and stainless steel substrates in a 0.4 Pa pure nitrogen atmosphere at 500 -C. The layer composition was controlled by the relative power to 7.5-cm-diameter Ag and Cr targets to be 0, 3, 12, and 22 at.% Ag. The layers exhibit a dense columnar microstructure where the Ag is homogeneously distributed in ...

Self-lubricating, low-friction, wear-resistant Al-based quasicrystalline coatings

After gas atomization, a quasicrystalline powder based on aluminium was used to prepare a thick coating by high-velocity oxygen-fuel flame torch spraying. This layer was deposited on top of a bond-coat layer on a steel plate. A post-spraying annealing treatment turned the two layers to their stable state, a γ-brass crystal and an icosahedral quasicrystal, respectively. The projection parameters...

Friction and Wear of Self-Lubricating Materials for Hydropower Applications under Different Lubricating Conditions

Self-lubricating bearings in hydropower applications are often lubricated with water under boundary lubricating conditions. Polyhydric alcohols replacing water have shown the potential to reduce both friction and wear. The objective of this work is, therefore, to evaluate the effect of a polyhydric alcohol-based environmentally-acceptable lubricant (EAL) on the friction and wear of self-lubrica...

Nanostructured DLC coatings for self-assembly applications

1 Abstract— The special characteristics and singular properties of diamond-like carbon (DLC) thin films deposited by pulsed DC plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD), such as hardness and wear resistance, are suitable for self assembly applications as protective coating and as nanostructured surfaces. In this master thesis project, nanostructured DLC surfaces will be designed and cha...
